Readers trust us with questions about their security, privacy, and money. This page explains the standards we hold ourselves to, so you can judge our work for yourself.
Our Mission
To help people understand technology and cybersecurity, and to give them clear, practical steps to stay safe online.
Accuracy and Sourcing
- We base our articles on primary and credible sources, such as official company statements, security advisories, regulator and court filings, and the work of recognised security researchers.
- We link to our sources where possible, so you can read them yourself.
- We do not publish rumours as facts. When information is unconfirmed, we say so.
- Numbers, dates, product names, and quotes are checked before publishing.
- Every article is edited before it goes live [describe your process, for example: reviewed by an editor for accuracy and clarity].
How We Report Data Breaches and Hacks
Breach stories can affect real people, so we follow extra rules:
- We separate what a company has confirmed, what researchers or media have reported, and what is only alleged.
- We use cautious wording and name the source of each claim.
- We do not publish stolen data, links to leaked databases, or personal details of affected people.
- We focus on what readers need: who may be affected, what data may be involved, and what steps to take.
- We update the article as new facts come in and mark meaningful changes with a note and date.
Responsible Security Reporting
We do not publish working exploit code or step-by-step attack instructions. When we discuss vulnerabilities, we aim to follow responsible disclosure practice and focus on how people can protect themselves.
Reviews and Recommendations
Our approach to testing and rating products is explained in our Review Methodology. Companies cannot pay for a better rating or for changes to our opinions.
Independence and Conflicts of Interest
- Advertising and affiliate relationships are kept separate from our editorial decisions. Please see our Affiliate Disclosure.
- If a writer has a relationship with a company covered in an article, we disclose it.
- Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, is clearly labelled and written to the same standards.
Use of AI Tools
[Choose the statement that is true for your site and delete the other. Option A: We do not use AI tools to write our articles. Option B: We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines, or editing, but our articles are written or reviewed by people, and a person is responsible for the facts and for what is published.]
Corrections and Updates
We make mistakes, and we want to fix them quickly.
- If you find an error, please email info@techcybernews.com or use our Contact page with the link and the correction.
- We review every report. Where we confirm an error, we correct the article and, for significant changes, add a short note explaining what changed and when.
- We update older articles when facts, prices, or advice change, so guidance stays current.
Comments and Reader Feedback
We welcome respectful comments and feedback. We may remove comments that are abusive, misleading, promotional, or that include personal information.
